Ministry Organization
The Three Strands Ministry gets its name from Ecclesiastics 4:12, "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." This name refers to the structure of a marriage (husband+wife+God) and it also refers to the structure of the ministry. Three Strands is an umbrella ministry, which contains three small classes based on the topics below:
- Strand 1: Marriage
- Strand 2: Spiritual Growth
- Strand 3: Parenting
This Sunday school class will contain small group and large group components. This structure is ideal for a couples ministry because it meets the specific needs of young couples in the church. The small classes begin a new study, lead by a mentor couple, related to three topics every fall. Couples are encouraged to join the Strand of God’s leading, not to feel restricted to their stage of life. The studies are structured for continued growth of couples throughout year, while maintaining the flexibility for new couples to join at anytime. Large group settings also promote unity among the young couples at Calvary, allowing young couples to maintain and build connections no matter their stage of life.
In addition to Sunday morning classes, Three Strands has Ministry and Social Teams that provided opportunities for couples to grow in faith and fellowship.
- The Ministry Team seeks out and organizes opportunities for Three Strands to serve one another, the church body, and the community together.
- The Social Team organizes opportunities for Three Stands to fellowship together through holiday parties and monthly events.

What Happens During a Sunday Morning
The first 15 to 20 minutes of the class is a fellowship time allowing from all three strands to spend time together. The class MC will open with an “ice-breaker” discussion, announcements, and prayer. The class then divides up into the three strands, the three individual classes previously described.
When and Where
Three Strands meets Sunday at 10:30am following the 9:00am church service at Calvary’s Boulder Campus (Get Directions). The class is held in the Fellowship Hall located on the 1st floor in the northwest side of the church.
